What is ghostwriting?
Ghostwriting is the practice of hiring someone to write something for you. This something could be a book, a screenplay, or even a song. Sometimes it's as simple as a blog post or online article.
Regardless of what is being written, the practice of having someone else write something for you, and in your name, has been around for ages. In a sense, the Holy Bible was ghostwritten since scribes, not prophets, actually wrote the various books, of the Old Testament at least.
In modern times, celebrities, politicians, and business leaders are the ones most commonly known for hiring ghostwriters to help them write their books.
But you don't have to be a sports star or a movie star to hire a ghostwriter. Ordinary people also hire ghostwriters to help them write their books, especially if that book is memoir, a business book, or a self-help book.
While hiring a ghostwriter does cost you money, doing so will improve your book. Specifically, it helps you finish your book quicker and with less effort on your part. And the book you produce will be better organized and easier to read.

Again, ghostwriters charge for their services because they are seasoned professional writers. In other words, not everyone can do what we do.
When you hire a ghostwriter to write a book for you, expect to pay anywhere between $25,000 and $75,000, or more. The rate charged depends on many factors, including the ghostwriter's experience level, how in-demand they are, and the length and complexity of the project.
One thing is sure: hiring a ghostwriter is an investment, but one that pays many dividends.

How much does it cost to hire a ghostwriter?
Is ghostwriting even legal?
You might be wondering if it's legal to hire someone to write your book for you, or to help you write your book, and to pay them for their hard work.
The short answer is yes, hiring a ghostwriter is perfectly legal.
As long as the person you hire agrees that what the two of you produce together goes under your name, and not theirs, then your agreement constitutes a legally-binding contract.

About the Minneapolis Ghostwriter
When you hire me, you work with me only, not an agency or a service that farms your work out to underpaid underlings, some of whom may be working offshore.
I worked for many years as a technical writer and business writer before hanging out my shingle as a ghostwriter.
I love to write and to read, and I love helping people tell their stories.
If you have a memoir that includes struggle, I can relate. I've suffered from depression for many years.
If you are writing a business book, I can relate. I ran a small consulting firm before I got into ghostwriting.
If you are writing a self-help book, I can relate. I love a good self-help books, one of my favorites being the classic, How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.
